Engine Control System - Overheat Caution System
CONDITION 1
- Immediate activation of the system when:
- Cylinder temperature reaches 111°C.
- Exhaust manifold temperature reaches 101°C.
CONDITION 2
- Immediate activation of the system when:
- The average temperature difference during three consecutive 10 seconds measurement periods of the cylinder temperature sensor at engine speeds of 500 rpm/min or higher exceeds the limits as shown below:
Temperature Range | Temperature Difference |
---|---|
Approx. 2.2°C | Approx. 0.6°C |
- The average temperature difference during three consecutive 10 seconds measurement periods of the exhaust manifold temperature sensor at engine speeds of 500 rpm/min or higher exceeds the limits as shown below:
Temperature Range | Temperature Difference |
---|---|
Approx. 9.6°C | Approx. 1.4°C |
Engine Speed:
- Caution lamp
- Caution buzzer
- Automatically reduced to approx. 3,000 rpm/min by intermittent fuel injection and ignition signals if the system is activated at 3,000 rpm/min or higher.
TEMP lamp: Lights continuously.
REV-LIMIT lamp: Lights continuously during engine speed rev-limiter activation.
Sounds: In a series of long beeps.
Close the throttle to reduce the engine speed below approx. 3,000 rpm/min.
When the cylinder temperature drops below the limits as shown below, the system resets. However, the system may be activated again unless the cause for overheat is removed.
Caution Cause | Reset Temperature |
---|---|
Condition 1 | Approx. 73°C |
Condition 2 | Approx. 65°C |
