Differential Inspection Tools
Use either 07KMK-HC50101 or 07KMK-HC5010A for differential inspection.
Common Issues and Solutions

Consistent Noise During Cruising:
- Check oil level; it might be too low.
- Inspect for foreign matter contaminating gear oil.
- Look for worn or damaged bearings, ring gear, and pinion gear.

Gear Noises While Running:
- Ensure oil level is adequate.
- Check for foreign matter in gear oil.
- Inspect for chipped or damaged gears.
- Check for improper tooth contact between ring gear and pinion gear.

Gear Noises While Coasting:
- Inspect for chipped or damaged gears.

Abnormal Noises When Turning:
- Check for worn or damaged ring gear bearing.
- Inspect face cams and cam followers for wear or damage.
- Check for worn differential housing grooves.
- Inspect cone spring or shim for wear.

Abnormal Noises at Start or During Acceleration:
- Check for excessive backlash between ring gear and pinion gear.
- Inspect differential splines for wear.
- Ensure all fasteners are tight.
- Inspect cone spring or shim for wear.

Oil Leak:
- Check oil level; it might be too high.
- Inspect breather for clogs.
- Check seals for damage.
- Ensure case cover bolt is tight.

Overheating:
- Check oil level; it might be too low.
- Ensure proper backlash between ring gear and pinion gear.
