TRANSMISSION OIL
If you're riding your Suzuki LT50 ATV frequently, it's important to take care of its transmission oil to ensure smooth operation. Here's what you need to know:
- Change Frequency: Initially after 1 month of use, then every 6 months thereafter.
- Procedure: Warm up the engine to facilitate oil drainage. Remove the oil filler cap and drain plug to completely drain the oil. Tighten the drain plug and refill with SAE 20W/40 multi-grade motor oil. Check the oil level with the oil level screw.
- Capacity: 500 ml (0.53 US qt)
BRAKES
Your safety on the Suzuki LT50 ATV depends on the proper functioning of its brakes. Follow these steps to ensure your brakes are in top condition:
- Adjustment Frequency: Initially after 1 month of use, then every 3 months thereafter.
- Brake Cable Adjustment: Set the parking brake by squeezing the brake lever and pressing the lock knob. Test the brake by rocking the vehicle to ensure the wheels are sufficiently locked. If necessary, adjust the brake by turning the adjuster in or out.
- Note: The free travel before the brake lever is set in the locked position should be approximately 5 mm (0.2 in) as measured at the lever base. Brake cable play should be 5mm (0.2 in).
